Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 vs Galaxy Z Fold 6: What’s New?

Samsung’s new Fold 7 is here, and at first look, it looks pretty familiar. So what’s actually new, and should Fold 6 users even care? Let’s break it down.

Design & Feel

Not a huge design overhaul here as it maintains same tall and slim vibe. But the Fold 7 has a better hinge and feels more durable. It’s slightly harder to open with one hand, which might actually be a good thing (less wobble).

Screens

The main 7.6″ inner display and the 6.3″ cover screen are unchanged in size, but the Fold 7 is brighter, noticeable if you use your phone a lot outside.

Performance & Battery

Both phones use the latest Snapdragon chip, so speed isn’t really different. But the Fold 7 handles heat a little better and seems to consume a bit more battery life by the end of the day.

Camera

No major upgrade here though, same sensors as the Fold 6. Samsung claims better low-light focus on the Fold 7, but real-world shots are almost identical unless you’re pixel-peeping.

If you already own the Fold 6, upgrading might feel like a waste unless you’re all about that slightly better hinge and brightness. But if you’re new to foldables, the Fold 7 is the better buy, hands down.
